Literally, all it is is digital FM. You have no idea what you are linked to, there is nothing like D-rats for it and most likely there never will be. On Dstar you can talk during a data transfer, the data just slows down. On fusion it's either or. If I want to call you in Wisconsin I better know what 1990s style chat room you hangout in because there is no call sign routing. And yaesu has it locked up so tight there isn't going to be much experimentation other than linking it to everything possible. The repeaters are dual mode but none of the digital people want to talk analog and the analog people can't talk digital.
